Stone Landscape Edging

Personalize your landscaping with a touch of style and functionality by adding custom stone around your flower beds, trees, and garden.

Incorporating stone into your overall look helps it blend in with the local surroundings, giving it a more natural look. Being a natural material, unlike concrete, stone brings a rich and natural beauty to your landscaping.

Not only does the use of stone edging tie together the overall look and feel of your front lawn oasis, it is also highly durable as a hardscape construction material making it the best option for your home’s value.

First, we dig out a trench 4″ below grade around the perimeter of flowerbeds and trees. We then install 3/8″ or #3 rebar through out the trench and pour a concrete footing to allow for a solid foundation to build upon. Many contractors will skip the footing in hopes of a cheaper price to the sell the client but within twelve months the border will begin moving, shifting, cracking or leaning out of alignment.

Having a solid footing is crucial for longevity of both stone edging and border.

From there, we begin installing the stone. Each piece is custom cut and chiseled to fit the appropriate area. The border will be higher of lower in height through out the flowerbed perimeter depending upon the grade of the yard and we do not want the border height to exceed the house’s foundation line. We tie strings going horizontally and use levelers during the building process to ensure the border remains level and in alignment across all areas. We also install weep holes throughout the border to allow for drainage during heavy rains.

Superior Masonry takes the time to walk through a variety of stone colors to choose from and will assist you in determining the best stone option that compliments your home.

We also provide different stone patterns to give you options of the overall look and feel of aesthetics to a curb appeal of your choice.

We can build the borders in a traditional running bond pattern where all stones are laid horizontally or we can build a random pattern where we install a mixture of different stone sizes that run both horizontally and vertically along the border facing.

Stone Landscape Edging will add a touch of style to a functional need, keeping your yard or garden looking great!
